An Englishman named Mason purchases the land, builds a beautiful house, and ranches the land until around 1942
1913
Stack Rock School is built on the north west end of the current ranch. In 1925 it is moved to the southeast end to be closer to students
1981
Darol Forsythe buys 1,600 acres of land and names it Stack Rock Ranch
1986
Darol builds his house and begins breeding mules for riding and working
1986-Ongoing
Darol starts developing the land by improving springs, creating water reservoirs, planting trees and pasture grass, and adding buildings. We continue rehabilitating the land with natural soil enhancers and irrigation.
2013
Darol starts running a small herd of cows to provide meat for family and friends
2017
Darol passes away peacefully in his beloved home. His son, John, takes over and works toward raising premium beef
